TAG offers various free and fee-based after school programs. Registration and details for all programs are available at the beginning of each school year (September).
Elementary Section / Grades K-5:
The YMCA COMPASS TAG Afterschool Program is designed to provide enriching experiences for our elementary school students beyond the regular school day. This program offers a variety of activities that promote academic support, leadership development, and creative exploration in a safe and supportive environment.

This program offers a variety of activities that promote academic support, leadership development, and creative exploration in a safe and supportive environment.
Program Details
- Start date: Monday, September 15
- End date: Friday, June 12
- Hours of operation: 2:20pm-5:30pm
- Dismissal time:3:45pm (early dismissal) or 5:15pm-5:45pm only
- Eligibility Requirements: Participants must be in Elementary School at Talented and Gifted School for Young Scholars (TAG)
- Description: A free after-school program for elementary school students at TAG Young Scholars School in conjunction with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development. Vanderbilt Y COMPASS @ TAG will operate Monday – Friday during the after-school hours. Y COMPASS is free, and enrollment is first come, first served starting in September. COMPASS will offer a variety of activities for elementary school students to join. Homework assistance will also be available for students in need of additional academic support
