What?
Debate classes led by the American Debate League (ADL). Students learn argumentation, public speaking, and research skills, with opportunities to participate in tournaments during the school year.
Who?
4th–8th graders only. If your student attends the YMCA after-school on debate class days: please note this on the registration form. The YMCA cannot accommodate debate students during class time—arrange for your child to log in from home or another quiet location.​

• Registration Fee: $100

Tournaments (Optional)

• Frequency: ~5–6 in-person events during the school year
• Typical Locations: Queens or the Bronx
• Schedule: Saturdays, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (full-day commitment required)
• ​Logistics: No transportation provided. Not drop-off—a guardian must accompany each debater.
