Every parent of students at the Talented & Gifted School For Young Scholars, as well as every teacher at TAG, is automatically a member of the PTA. At TAG, we believe parents are their children's first teachers and that parent involvement is essential to a child's academic success. All TAG students, families, and friends are invited to the party of the year- the Costume Party on Saturday, Feb 11th at 4pm at TAG. Everyone will get the chance to put on their favorite costume, play games, and dance the night away with friends.

INDOOR ICE SKATING WITH TAG
All TAG families and friends are invited to a fun-filled afternoon ice skating at Aviator Sports Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, Feb 4th from 1:30pm - 5:30pm! Tickets are discounted and have a lunch option. Buy your tickets HERE by Feb 3rd!

PICTURE DAY RE-TAKES
Re-takes for Picture Day will be done on MONDAY, FEB 6th. Forms for re-takes are available on the PTA bulletin board and in Ms. Bruno's office.
* If you missed the original Picture Day- complete the order form and give it, along with payment, to your child's teacher before Feb 6th.
* If you were unhappy with the pictures you received- return the original photo package (you KEEP the class picture) and a completed form to your child’s teacher before Feb 6th.

Send sweet wishes to a TAG student, teacher, or staff with a Valentine's Day Gram! Heart lollipops and Valentine pencils are only $1 each. A S'mores Kit is only $3 each. Completed forms & money should be left in the dropbox in Ms. Bruno's office by Feb 10th. Forms will be sent home in backpacks this week, but you can pick up more from the PTA bulletin board.

TAG parents are invited to Coffee & Tea with Ms. C on Friday, February 10th 3rd at 8:15am in the library. The topic will be Latin At TAG; we'll meet the Latin teacher & learn about the curriculum and more. This is an excellent time to talk with Ms. Cesar and other parents about any questions you may have about the Latin program.

After-school piano lessons are once again being offered to TAG scholars in grades K-5. Registration for the after school piano program is now open; further info is HERE. Register by Feb 24th!
NOTE:
1. There are two days for after-school piano. If your child DOES NOT participate in the after school Y program, you will enroll on Wednesdays for the fall/winter session. If your child participates in the after school Y program, you will enroll him/her for the Thursday session.
2. In order to meet the after school Y attendance requirements, if your child is in the after school Y and participates in after school piano, they cannot participate in other after school enrichment programs (i.e., chess, math club, Mandarin).

Give the gift of literacy when you donate new or gently used books to the Metropolitan Hospital Pediatrics Used Book Drive! Books will be donated on behalf of TAG to the kids in the hospital. Donate anything from picture books for the youngest readers to novels for teens! Leave your books in Ms. Bruno's office (Room 106) by March 3rd!

or begin learning Mandarin. Classes will be held on Fridays from 2:30pm-3:30pm (Non-Y kids only), 3:30pm-4:30pm (Non-Y & Y students; Y students do not return to the Y), 4:30pm-5:30pm (Y students). Register by March 3rd by emailing [email protected].

2016 - 2017 SCHOOL CALENDAR
