Teacher's Assistant (Early Elementary)

TAG Young Scholars is a Public School that serves students identified with gifted abilities in grades K-8.
This is one of the five citywide gifted programs and we are searching for a highly enthusiastic individual
that can encourage and inspire students to excel.
Job Description:
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers.
Supervise students.
Distribute teaching materials, assignments and school supplies to students.
Collect completed assignments.
Grade homework and tests.
Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
Requirements:
Certified NYC Teacher Assistant
Long-term, serious commitment to teaching as a profession
Available 6 hours daily Monday-Friday between 8:05am and 2:25pm
Available to start Sept 7, 2017
DOE fingerprints on record
Preference Given to Those With:
Associate Degree
Experience working with preschool age children
Special interest in Gifted and Talented Education
