If you are at TAG, check out the Black History Month Bulletin Board and encourage your children to do the same. The month of May this year 2020, will mark 66 years of the ruling for Brown vs Board of Education.
Every year we decorate the bulletin board for Black History Month. This year we wanted to focus on Brown vs Board of Education and the history of desegregating our schools in this country. There are little take-away pamphlets about Ruby Bridges on the bulletin board, we want to encourage folks to take the pamphlets or ask their kids to do so. We also listed resources (books to read, suggested by all grade levels and ages and movies to watch, for the entire family) about Brown vs. Board of Ed and Ruby Bridges, on the bulletin board. Click to view or print Black History Month bulletin board pamphlet. We'd love for the entire school (all grades) to know who Linda Brown and Ruby Bridges are and to understand the history of desegregation of schools in this country. Rosa Parks is the Mother of The Civil Rights Movement and Ruby Bridges is the Princess of The Desegregation of Schools Movement. Read about the importance of Ruby Bridges. We're attempting to bring attention to the Black History Month bulletin board, as we will prepare to take it down and decorate for Women's History Month. Comments are closed.
